The seminar will address the relationship between the generalized concept of "Islamic Terrorism" and Latin American security and political concerns. How useful is this concept when used in different political contexts? What are Latin America's main political challenges at the beginning of 21st century? By considering such questions, it will be possible to develop a framework of Latin American political concerns and their relevance to U.S. foreign policy.
