For the Common Defense: Students, Fellows, and Faculty engage in open, informal discussion of military-related topics.

For The Common Defense presents a dynamic panel discussion with six HKS MPP students telling their stories of wartime military service. Moderated by Julia Stern, a civilian classmate and founder of The Service Project, this discussion will cover topics such as their reasons for joining the military, common assumptions and stereotypes people make about military service, as well as personal anecdotes from combat, overseas deployments, and military life.
