To compete and thrive in the 21st century, democracies, and the United States in particular, must develop new national security and economic strategies that address the geopolitics of information. In the 20th century, market capitalist democracies geared infrastructure, energy, trade, and even social policy to protect and advance that era’s key source of power—manufacturing. In this century, democracies must better account for information geopolitics across all dimensions of domestic policy and national strategy.
Biography
Evelyn (Ellie) Hitt is the Executive Coordinator for Ambassador Samantha Power. She received her B.A. in International Relations from Boston University where she was involved in the Community Service Center as a Program Manager for the Alternative Service Breaks Program and as the Co-Founder of Urban Refuge, an app designed to map aid for urban refugees. She joined the Belfer Center after working for two years as a Refugee Career Coach at Jewish Vocational Service.
