Aljohara Almoammar is a Fellow at the Belfer Center’s Middle East Initiative at the Harvard Kennedy School. Her research examines the social and economic impact of reform policies in Saudi Arabia and the broader Gulf region. Her current project explores the extent to which changes in nuptuality trends have contributed to the decline in fertility rates in Saudi Arabia.
Prior to her fellowship, Aljohara worked on policy-relevant research and engagement within a public sector context in Saudi Arabia. Her work focused on economic and social policy, contributing to the design of research initiatives, facilitating strategic partnerships with international institutions, and supporting the dissemination of applied research through high-level workshops and closed-door policy dialogues.
She holds a Master of Arts in International Studies and Diplomacy from SOAS, University of London, where she specialized in foreign policy, international security, and diplomatic practice. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Law from Prince Sultan University in Riyadh.
