Annie Boniface studies the twentieth-century United States with emphasis on mental health, policy, and wartime. Currently, her research examines the development of psychiatric policy in the U.S. military in four twentieth-century conflicts: World War I, World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War.
She graduated summa cum laude from Northwestern University with degrees in history and journalism, and she originally hails from Southeast Michigan. Annie is a fifth-year Ph.D. candidate in the history department at Harvard University and a 2024–2025 Ernest May Fellow.
