Brandon Roth
Biography
Lieutenant Colonel Brandon A. Roth is a National Security Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School. He is a command pilot, an F-16 instructor, and an aircraft maintenance officer. Most recently, Lt Col Roth was the commander of the 113th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron.
Lt Col Roth commissioned in 2005 after graduating from the Rochester Institute of Technology with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He served on active duty for 12 years before
transferring to the Air National Guard. Lt Col Roth is a graduate of and a former instructor at the U.S. Air Force Weapons School. He has a Masters of Strategic Intelligence from the National Intelligence University and a Masters of Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Worldwide.
Lt Col Roth has flown combat missions over Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, and elsewhere. In 2018, he deployed to the Indo-Pacific in support of regional security. As a member of the D.C. National Guard, he has flown aerospace control alert missions over the Nation’s Capital, including the 2018 State of the Union address, and he supported civil disturbance operations on the streets of Washington in the spring of 2020. Prior to squadron command, Lt Col Roth served in the Pentagon at the National Guard Bureau as a strategic planner with the Chief’s Action Group.
Lt Col Roth is married with two children, and he enjoys running, hiking, working outdoors, and traveling with his family.
