Julian Simcock
Julian Simcock directs Harvard’s Future of Diplomacy Project under the leadership of Ambassador Nick Burns, and is the Founder of the New York Foreign Policy Collaborative.
He previously served in multiple roles on the White House National Security Council under Jake Sullivan, including Director for Global Criminal Justice & Multilateral Affairs, where he helped shape and execute the U.S. response at the UN to Russia’s war of aggression in Ukraine. Earlier, he was Deputy Legal Adviser to the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations and a lawyer at the Department of State, where he was a U.S. negotiator in the Sudan ceasefire talks.
Julian began his career at Goldman Sachs. He received his J.D. from Stanford Law School, M.P.A. from Harvard Kennedy School, M. Phil. from the University of Cape Town, where he was a Fulbright Scholar, and B.S. from Babson College. After law school, he clerked on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. His writing has appeared in The Atlantic and The Stanford Law Review.
