Biography
Lieutenant Colonel Richard L. Farnell originates from Fort Pierce, Florida. He was commissioned into the U.S. Army in 2004 and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Tampa. He holds a Master’s degree in Administrative Leadership from the University of Oklahoma and is an alumnus of MIT Seminar XXI. He has also authored multiple articles for the Harvard Kennedy School, Harvard Business Review, Psychology Today, and various military journals. He excels in strategic-level planning, has led numerous organizations, including several combat tours in Iraq, and specializes in data analytics—his research centers on artificial intelligence and strategic parallel planning in dynamic environments.
LTC Farnell has conducted operations in South Korea, Japan, and the Middle East. He also served in the Pentagon as the Special Assistant to the Vice Chief of Staff of the Army. During this three-year assignment, LTC Farnell was selected to serve as an Executive Officer on the White House's Data Analytics Task Force at the peak of the COVID-19 Pandemic. He also served as the Deputy Director of the Vice Chief of Staff of the Army’s Initiatives Group. He would later be selected to lead a Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) battalion, first in South Korea and later at Fort Sill, Oklahoma.
