Christoph Bertram

Christoph Bertram (1937) studied law and political science at the Universities of Berlin, Bonn and Paris. In 1967 he joined the International Institute for Strategic Studies in London, serving as the Institute’s Director from 1974 to 1982. He left the IISS in 1982 to become a Senior Editor of „Die Zeit“ in Hamburg writing on international and strategic affairs. He is Contributing Editor of Foreign Policy Magazine in Washington, D.C.. Since April 1998 Mr. Bertram heads the Foundation Science and Policy, a research center on international affairs, which advises the German government and parliament.
