Mehek Sethi

Mehek Sethi is research assistant and student organizer at the Belfer Center’s Arctic Initiative. She is a Master’s in Public Policy candidate concentrating in International Affairs at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. Mehek is a U.S. State Department Pickering Fellow; she previously served in the Economic Bureau in Washington D.C. and at the U.S. Embassy in Buenos Aires. She also has experience facilitating business and trade development between Israel and the United States while working for the Israeli Economic Mission in San Francisco. Mehek is originally for Portland, Oregon and has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Political Science from the University of California-Berkeley. She also studied at the University of Geneva’s Global Studies Institute. Mehek was part of the Arctic Innovators Cohort of 2017 who participated in the Arctic Circle Conference in Reykjavik and she published work analyzing the complexities of an Arctic Free Trade Agreement. Her most recent research centers around the potential negotiation of a free trade agreement between the U.S. and the UK. Mehek is excited to support the Arctic Initiative Module and Field Lab offered this fall.
