Congratulations to Belfer Center Affiliates

Harvard Kennedy School Dean Douglas Elemendorf announced in May the promotion of the Belfer Center’s Juliette Kayyem to Senior Lecturer. Through her teaching, government service, journal- ism, and private sector work, Kayyem is a national leader in America’s homeland security efforts.

Joseph Aldy, a Belfer Center affiliate who works actively with the Harvard Project on Climate Agreements, has been appointed Professor of the Practice of Public Policy at the Kennedy School.

Associate Professor of Public Policy Dara Kay Cohen, who works with the Center’s International Security Program, received the Emerging Scholar Award from the International Security Studies Section of the International Studies Association. Cohen’s research focuses on civil war and the dynamics of violence, and gender and conflict.

Stanton Nuclear Security Fellow Sébastien Philippe has been selected to participate in the69th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting, scheduled for late June. Philippe conducts research at the intersection of measurement systems and cryptography, with applications to nuclear arms control verification.
