Conversations in Diplomacy: Esther Brimmer
US Assistant Secretary of State for International Organization Affairs Esther Brimmer joins "Conversations in Diplomacy" to discuss the challenges that the Obama administration has faced in reintegrating the United States as a productive player in the world of international organizations. Brimmer defended the importance of US participation in multilateral institutions as a vital and cost-effective means of advancing American interests around the world through a collaborative framework.
Brimmer previously served in various roles in the U.S. Department of State, the Carnegie Commission on Preventing Deadly Conflict, and in the United States House of Representatives. Brimmer is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and Women in International Security.
