Conversations in Diplomacy: Jim Jeffrey
In this installment of "Conversations in Diplomacy" - the Future of Diplomacy Project's podcast series - Professor Nicholas Burns is joined by Ambassador Jim Jeffrey, who served as ambassador to Turkey (2008-2010) and Iraq (2010-2012), as well asdeputy national security advisor for President George W. Bush.
Ambassador Jeffrey's earlier assignments at the State Department include: principal deputy assistant secretary for the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs, senior advisor on Iraq to the Secretary of State, chargé d'affaires and deputy chief of mission in Baghdad, deputy chief of mission in Ankara and ambassador in Albania. From 1969 to 1976, Ambassador Jeffrey served as an infantry officer in the U.S. Army.
