In this installment of the Future of Diplomacy Project's "Conversations in Diplomacy" podcast series, Soli Özel joins Future of Diplomacy Project Faculty Director Nicholas Burns for an in-depth discussion on Turkey's growing geopolitical ambitions. Drawing on his experience both in academia, as a Professor of International Relations at Kadir Has University, and in the media as a foreign affairs correspondent for Gazete Habertürk, Dr. Özel shared his insights on Turkey's evolving regional roles in Europe and in the Middle East.

Soli Özel is a professor of International Relations and Political Science at Istanbul Bilgi University. He is the editor of Private View, an advisor to the chairman of The journal of Turkish Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (TUSIAD), and the editor of the Turkish edition of Foreign Policy. Özel has written for Nokta, GazetePazar (a Sunday paper),  Yeni Binyil (a now defunct national daily), Sabah newspaper and Görüº magazine.  Currently, he is a columnist at Haberturk newspaper.
