The Executive Session on Domestic Preparedness is a standing task force of leading practitioners and academic specialists concerned with terrorism and emergency management led by Arnold Howitt and Juliette Kayyem.
The ESDP develops practical recommendations for policymakers and practitioners at all levels of government for addressing key problems within the domestic preparedness effort. It is a resource for federal, state, and local government officials, congressional commit tees, and others working to reduce the threat of terrorism and minimize U.S. vulnerability.
The ESDP recently released a memo to Tom Ridge outlining prevention and preparedness steps and a memo to governors and mayors with a checklist for dealing with disasters (see page 10 for the story). The ESDP also produces a series of Perspectives on Preparedness and discussion papers on topics relating to domestic preparedness.
