Africa's conflict stems in large part from poor governance and deficient leadership. Africa contains some fine leaders who perform effectively for their citizens, providing both political goods and a sense of belonging to a greater enterprise. A group of senior African leaders have formed an African Leadership Council to examine leadership issues and train future leaders in the arts of good leadership and government.
