Managing Risk in an Unstable World
Dr. Ian Bremmer, expert in political risk and founder of the Eurasia Group, gave a seminar sponsored by the Future of Diplomacy Project on Thursday, November 9 at the Harvard Kennedy School, titled “Managing Risk in an Unstable World.”
Addressing a somewhat muted crowd in Malkin Penthouse just days after Donald Trump was voted into office, Bremmer, in discussion with Future of Diplomacy Project Faculty Director Nicholas Burns, offered his views on the changing global balance of power and fielded questions from the packed audience. While much of the seminar focused on the potential outcomes of a Trump presidency, the conversation also covered broader trends in politics, demographics, and trade policy, serving as a reminder that the American administration is only one factor in a highly complex international system.
