Zachary D. Kaufman, J.D., Ph.D., is an academic specializing in law, political science, and public policy. Dr. Kaufman is a Senior Fellow at Harvard University‘s John F. Kennedy School of Government (in the Carr Center for Human Rights Policy). In addition, he continues to be a Visiting Fellow at both Yale Law School and Yale University‘s Genocide Studies Program as well as a Term Member of the Council on Foreign Relations. From 2016 to 2017, Dr. Kaufman will take a leave of absence from Harvard University to serve in the U.S. government as a Council on Foreign Relations International Affairs Fellow. His most recent book is United States Law and Policy on Transitional Justice: Principles, Politics, and Pragmatics (Oxford University Press, 2016).
