Resource Optimization Initiative (ROI) is an institution that is devoted to research in the applications of Industrial Ecology to developing countries. Previous to this position, Mr. Ramaswamy founded the Technology Exchange Network (TEN), a consulting organization he continues to be a part of that networks a number of specialists and offers comprehensive consulting services. Since 1994, TEN has been working in the field of Industrial Ecology. In 2003, he co-authored "Applied Industrial Ecology: A New Platform for Planning Sustainable Societies" with Suren Erkman. He has served on the membership committee of the International Society of Industrial Ecology and is a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Industrial Ecology at MIT. He received an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management and a B.S. in Physics, Chemistry, and Math from Madras University in India.
