The Brazilian Power Sector: From Crisis to Recovery, Dilma Rousseff

About

Dilma Rousseff served as co-director of the transition team for President-elect Luiz "Lula" Inacio da Silva before being appointed Minsiter of Energy and Mines in 2003.  She was Secretary of Energy for the State of Rio Grande do Sul from 1993-1994 and, again, from 1999-2002.

The Economist ran an article on the Brazilian electricity situation, ("Lighitng a Candle:  Fixing a Messy, Half-privatised Electricity Industry," June 14, 2003) which references Minister Rousseff.

This event is jointly sponsored by the Harvard Electricity Policy Group and the David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies.
