Designing Effective Assessments Workshop

About

This is one of three workshops planned for early 2001 that, taken together, seek to assemble, synthesize and publish the results of the five year GEA Project that is scheduled to end in the summer of 2001. On January 16-18 a working meeting for the authors of a volume on the design of environmental assessments will be held. This meeting is organized by Jill Jaeger and Alex Farrell, who will be editing the book, tentatively titled Global and Regional Environmental Assessments: Design and Practice. Attendees include invited authors (drawn from the ranks of GEA Fellows, Faculty, and Affiliates) and the editors of all the GEA volumes. This volume is aimed principally at helping practioners of assessments, scientists, research program managers, decision-makers and their staff, as well as being useful to scholars interested in environmental policy-making and in the use of technical information in policy-making.
