The Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs is proud to host a Director's Seminar entitled "Policy Frontiers in Preventing Deadly Conflict" with Dr. David Hamburg, President Emeritus of Carnegie Corporation of New York. Dr. Hamburg recently completed his latest book, No More Killing Fields: Preventing Deadly Conflicts, which culminates his career at Carnegie Corporation. His discussion will focus on his vast experience and knowledge in dealing with conflict and conflict resolution especially in uncertain times.

Dr. Hamburg served as President of Carnegie Corporation from 1983-1997. Under his leadership, Carnegie Corporation played an active role in reducing nuclear danger, moved toward the resolution of the Cold War, and worked toward democracy in South Africa. In 1994, he established the Carnegie Commission on Preventing Conflict, which he co-chaired with Cyrus Vance.
