The overarching question imparting urgency to this exploration is: Can U.S.-Russian contention in cyberspace cause the two nuclear superpowers to stumble into war? In considering this question we were constantly reminded of recent comments by a prominent U.S. arms control expert: At least as dangerous as the risk of an actual cyberattack, he observed, is cyber operations’ “blurring of the line between peace and war.” Or, as Nye wrote, “in the cyber realm, the difference between a weapon and a non-weapon may come down to a single line of code, or simply the intent of a computer program’s user.”
The Middle East Initiative at Harvard Kennedy School invites you to join us for an event featuring His Excellency Saeed Al Nazari, Secretary General of the Great Arab Minds Initiative, hosted by MEI Faculty Chair Professor Tarek Masoud. H.E. Saeed will discuss his work aimed at reawakening the Arab world's Golden Age by empowering exceptional talents in science, culture, and innovation, as well as the Great Arab Minds Initiative’s vision for shaping the future by fostering knowledge-based development and a “brain regain” across the Arab world. Additionally, the event will touch on the founder of the Great Arab Minds Initiative, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
His Excellency Saeed Al Nazari is the Secretary General of the Great Arab Minds Initiative, as well as the Director General of the Federal Youth Authority–a role he has held since 2018–and the Chief Strategy Officer at Arab Youth Center since its inception in 2017. Prior to that, he was appointed as the Executive Director of the Youth Office at the U.A.E. Prime Minister’s office.
In his capacity as an influential Arab and Emirati youth leader, he has led many strategic projects, regionally and internationally.
Credited with authoring several papers on entrepreneurship and government work, he has achieved national and international awards in leadership and academic excellence. He has represented the UAE at the Global Shapers Program of WEF. He is also a member of the Global Achievement Academy in the US.
Al Nazari is a graduate from Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Scholars Program at NYU Abu Dhabi, a prestigious leadership program. He holds a master’s degree in Leadership & Corporate Entrepreneurship, and a Bachelor’s in BA from the Higher Colleges of Technology.
