Technology Investments in Aerospace Among Asian NIEs: Sustainable Policy or Not?, Soren Eriksson
AbstractIn many countries the aerospace industry is strongly regarded as a source of technology renewal and economic development. Over the last few decades statements have been made by many governments in East- and Southeast Asia, to the effects that the aerospace industry production should be one of the most important industries in the new stage of economic growth. It is obvious that this development is much more difficult than expected. The seminar will deal with the general efforts to develop this industry in East- and Southeast Asia, but also give a closer look into a few cases, such as China, Indonesia and Taiwan. Dr S?????ren Eriksson completed his Ph.D. at the University of Gothenburg and is currently Head of Economic Geography at J?????nk?????ping International Business School, Sweden. His teaching and research activities focus on the aerospace sector, regional economic development and technology diffusion.
