The Ukraine-Russia Crisis: Can Diplomacy and Democracy Prevail?
Tensions between Ukraine and Russia are rising quickly. The border crisis raises the questions: Does a democratically governed country have the right to exist? What role does the rest of the world play in supporting that right? And what important international conflicts and diplomatic efforts aren’t we talking about with the global spotlight on Eastern Europe?
To help us frame the ongoing confrontation, the JFK Jr. Forum is honored to host former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bill Taylor (HKS ‘77), Vice President, Russia and Europe at the U.S. Institute of Peace, for a conversation on the unfolding conflict and America’s role in defending democracy abroad. Ambassador Paula J. Dobriansky, Senior Fellow of the “Future of Diplomacy Project” at the Belfer Center for Science & International Affairs and former Under Secretary of State for Global Affairs, will moderate the conversation.
