Belfer Center Directors' Luncheon "U.S. Energy Policy in Russia and the Caspain," with Leonard Coburn, Director of the Office of Russian and Eurasian Affairs. Office of Policy and International Affairs, U.S. Department of Energy.

Previously, Mr. Coburn was the Director of the Office of Oil Policy where he was responsible for policy analyses of the domestic oil industry, world oil markets, and energy taxation. Before joining the Department of Energy, Mr. Coburn served in the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice prosecuting antitrust cases in the energy and transportation areas. He has been with the federal government since 1969. Mr. Coburn has been active in the International Association for Energy Economics and is its immediate past president.

The Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs and the Caspian Studies Program is proud to host a Director's Seminar with Leonard Coburn, who is the Director of the Office of Russian and Eurasian Affairs, Office of Policy and International Affairs at the United States Department of Energy. The Office is the Secretariat for the U.S.-Russia Energy Dialogue and manages the U.S.-Russia Energy Working Group. The Office also is responsible for all energy activities in the countries of the Former Soviet Union, Israel, and Turkey. These responsibilities include both bilateral and multilateral relationships and analytic support on a variety of international energy issues. In addition, the Office is responsible for world oil markets and international oil market emergency response activities.
