
Filippo Gualtiero Blancato
Filippo Gualtiero Blancato is an incoming Postdoctoral Fellow in Technology and Geopolitics at the Belfer Centre for Science and International Affairs.
Filippo’s research explores the political, economic, and cybersecurity implications of governments’ reliance on foreign cloud computing providers for the provision of critical digital services. His current project focuses on how European governments bargain with US cloud giants for greater control over cloud infrastructures.
His research has been published in Policy and the Internet, International Affairs, Communications of the ACM, and the Journal of European Public Policy.
Filippo is currently completing his PhD in cybersecurity at University College London (UCL). Prior to this, Filippo worked for the European Commission (Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology), Microsoft, and two European think tanks.
