Commander Jon Ladyga is a National Security Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School. His most recent operational assignment was as Chief of Response at Coast Guard Sector Puget Sound in Seattle, WA, overseeing search and rescue, port security, defense readiness, law enforcement, and oil spill response operations.

Previous operational assignments include Coast Guard Patrol Boat Forces Southwest Asia in Bahrain, Tactical Law Enforcement Team South in Miami, FL, and at-sea as a Division Officer onboard CGC VALIANT (WMEC 621) where he conducted maritime safety and security operations throughout Coast Guard’s Atlantic Area. His previous staff assignments include serving as a Program Examiner at the White House Office of Management and Budget, Program and Budget Analyst at Coast Guard Headquarters, and Special Assistant to the Military Advisor in the Office of the Secretary at the Department of Homeland Security in Washington, D.C. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Government from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and a Master of Public Administration from The George Washington University.
