Cambridge, MA – The Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Harvard Kennedy School is pleased to announce the appointment of Brittany Janis as Associate Director of the Center’s Environment and Natural Resources Program (ENRP) and the Science, Technology, and Public Policy Program (STPP). An experienced administrator, team-builder, and communicator, as Associate Director she will oversee the operations of both programs and build strategic partnerships across Harvard and with external partners.
“Everyone who has had the privilege to work with Brittany recognizes that she is special,” said ENRP Director Henry Lee. “In her time with the Center’s Arctic Initiative, she has demonstrated an extraordinary ability to blend talented individuals into an effective team. We are excited for her to bring her management and strategy skills to bear on all our initiatives.”
As the Research Manager and later Associate Director of the Belfer Center’s Arctic Initiative, Janis has been instrumental in building strategic partnerships across Harvard and the Arctic and advancing the Initiative’s research on resilience and marine plastic pollution. Before coming to Harvard, she spent her career working in strategic fund development and nonprofit management for a range of nonprofit organizations.
“It has been such an honor to build the Arctic Initiative over the past few years,” said Janis. “I am delighted to get to keep working at the Belfer Center with the remarkable ENRP and STPP teams, leading an expanded portfolio of research and policy solutions to address the global climate crisis."
