"BETWEEN VENGEANCE AND FORGIVENESS: FACING HISTORY AFTER GENOCIDE AND MASS VIOLENCE"

About

The rise of collective violence is the twentieth century?s most terrible legacy. Remembering and forgetting, judging and forgiving, reconciling and avenging, grieving and educating -- Professor Minow shows us why each may be necessary, yet painfully inadequate, to individuals and societies living in the wake of past horrors. In this brown bag lunch, Professor Minow will discuss the rich and often troubling range of responses to massive, societal-level oppression, including prosecutions, reparations and truth commissions.
