LTG Robert Caslen, Superintendent of US Military Academy, will speak on “Iraq: After the Departure.”
Lieutenant General Robert L. Caslen Jr. is Superintendent of the US Military Academy at West Point. Prior to this duty, he was chief of Office of Security Cooperation in Iraq, leading the “stay-behind” forces and personnel in Iraq after the formal US withdrawal in December 2011. Caslen served in the 1991 Gulf War and in Afghanistan and Iraq after 9/11. On September 11th, 2001, he was in the Pentagon when it was attacked. Caslen graduated from the U.S. Military Academy in 1975. He earned master’s degrees from Long Island University and Kansas State University. Caslen’s awards and decorations include the Defense Distinguished Service Medal, the Bronze Star Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, and the Combat Infantryman Badge.
