On The Edge of The Second Digital Revolution The Internet of Things
The first digital revolution was driven by greater interconnections between people through the Internet and the web. This revolution provided the backbone that made it possible to create a truly global community.
The world is on the verge of a second digital revolution that will serve less as a backbone but more like a nervous system. The Internet of Things (IoT) is building on the first digital revolution but in a more profound way that had envisaged. The IoT is a new world in which objects are linked wirelessly to a network that enables data to be shared.
Smartphones are only a rudimentary beginning of the second digital revolution....
