Sappho Gilbert, PhD MPH is an epidemiologist who studies the impacts of public policy (including poverty reduction and public health initiatives) and social and environmental factors on Arctic communities' food security, nutrition, and wellbeing. Alongside community-based and multisectoral project partners, she utilizes mixed methods in her research. Dr. Gilbert received her PhD from the Yale School of Public Health, Master's in Public Health from Dartmouth College, and Bachelor of Science in Biology (with a Minor in Political Science) from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She is co-affiliated with the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and is a 2024-2026 Fulbright Arctic Initiative Scholar.
