AI + X + G Initiative
The Belfer Center’s Study Group on AI Governance Across Emerging Technologies
AI+X+G is a study group at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at the Harvard Kennedy School, focusing on AI governance across key domains such as healthcare, scientific research, finance, education, diplomacy, and military competition that are undergoing AI-related disruption. Through a series featuring both prominent speakers and student discussions led by our Technology and Geopolitics fellows, we explore the intersection of AI and policy challenges, as well as identify potential policy and action plans.
About the Study Group
The AI+X+G Initiative is organized into topics discussing how AI integrates with "X" topic with a focus on Governance in that domain. Each topic is lead by one of the Technology and Geopolitics fellows, and organized into an initial session, a speaker session, and a session debrief. Over these three sessions, each topic study group, made up of currently enrolled students at the Harvard Kennedy School, engages in in-depth dialogue discussing policy implications for emerging AI technology both with each other and with a leading expert. After each speaker event, the study group produces writings that encapsulate the discussions and illuminate governance opportunities in the realm of AI explored during their sessions.
