Two Tarnished Institutions

A Harvard University lecturer describes meeting Former US President George Bush on a visit to Oman. The lecturer was concerned Bush was a member of a group of Texan businessmen and may therefore be using his past political role inappropriately, even though it was quite legal. Bush is held in high esteem in the region, since the Gulf war. The lecturer was in Oman to talk about the proliferation of poor quality yet accredited university courses on offer in Oman. Many Omanis were unhappy their people would not receive the type of education necessary to work in the modern institutions.
