DETS/AFC Strategic Forums Series
Belfer's DETS Program partnered with the HKS Armed Forces Committe (AFC) to launch the Strategic Forums Series, a set of closed-door Oxford-style debates on the most pressing national security questions.
Our aim is to enable transparent and rigorous discourse on hot-button topics many AFC members are passionate about, such as the defense of Taiwan, AI strategy, and the war in Ukraine.
We hope the debates will challenge our opinions, views, and perceptions, improving our intellectual understanding and forging interpersonal connections in the process.
Why the Strategic Forums Series?
Sound strategy emerges from disciplined contestation, yet few forums are designed to rigorously surface and stress-test competing views on core national security challenges.
