Nicholas Blanchette is a Ph.D. candidate in political science at MIT’s Security Studies Program and a Predoctoral Research Fellow in the International Security Program at Harvard Kennedy School’s Belfer Center. His dissertation research evaluates how states reveal information about advanced military technologies in the context of peacetime security competition.

His other research focuses on nuclear weapons, emerging military technologies and technology competition, and coercion. Nick also works as an adjunct researcher at the RAND Corporation. Nick holds an M.Phil. in International Relations with distinction from Oxford University and a B.A.in Political Science from Colorado College. Prior to starting at MIT, Nick was a research assistant in the Nuclear Policy Program at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.
