Disentangling Climate Impact from Development Impact to Mobilize Climate Finance: The Green Swap

RSVP Required Open to the Public

An Energy Policy Seminar with Akash Deep.

Economic growth in Emerging Markets and Developing Economies is projected to remain closely tied to increasing emissions. However, the development and climate impacts of energy investments differ in their benefits, costs, and risks. Therefore, so must their financing.

In this Energy Policy Seminar, Akash Deep, Senior Lecturer in Public Policy at Harvard Kennedy School, presented a financial mechanism – the Green Swap – that disentangles climate impact from development impact to mobilize financing for renewable energy investment.
