Nils Olsen is a first-year joint Master in Public Policy and Master of Business Administration candidate at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government and Business School. He studies strategies integrating public, private, and civic sectors to foster economic growth and strengthen representative regimes in emerging markets.

Nils works as a Research Assistant on the Africa Futures Project, focusing on the critical issues of African politics and governance, climate security and the energy transition, conflict and security, and economic development. He is also a Rubenstein Fellow at Harvard's Center for Public Leadership.

Prior to graduate school, Nils served as an Active Duty U.S. Army officer, with distinguished experience in Europe and Africa. He graduated from the United States Military Academy in 2014, where he studied Political Science and Portuguese.
