MEDIA ALERT - Belfer Center Experts Available to Discuss 2023 G20 New Delhi Summit
The upcoming 2023 G20 summit scheduled in New Delhi will convene leaders representing the world's major economies to deliberate and strategize about imminent environmental and economic challenges. The overarching theme of "One Earth" will serve as a clarion call for unity and collective responsibility, underscoring the urgency of collaborative endeavors. Participating nations will engage in open dialogues, deliberating the adoption of cleaner energy sources, advancing circular economic models, and fortifying support mechanisms for marginalized communities grappling with environmental transformations.
The following Belfer Center experts are available to discuss the G20, its policy discussions, and any commitments announced:
FACULTY
Meghan O’Sullivan – Director, Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs -- O’Sullivan has served in senior policymaking roles advising national security officials in both Republican and Democratic administrations and is currently a member of U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken’s Foreign Policy Advisory Board. She can provide insights into foreign policy and national security, energy markets, the transition to a net-zero global economy, and the geopolitics of that transition. Her areas of expertise include Middle East & North Africa, Energy Policy, and International Relations.

John P. Holdren – Research Professor of Environmental Policy at Harvard Kennedy School. Served as President Obama's Science Advisor and Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy 2009-2017. Was the US Executive Agent implementing the US-India Science and Technology Cooperation Agreement. He can discuss energy innovation policy, climate change science and policy, nuclear issues, science & technology policy.

Bruce Schneier - Adjunct Lecturer in Public Policy at Harvard Kennedy School. Schneier is an internationally renowned security technologist, called a "security guru" by The Economist. He is the author of 14 books including the New York Times best-seller Data and Goliath: The Hidden Battles to Collect Your Data and Control Your World. He can discuss cybersecurity, digital privacy, artificial intelligence, and tech policy.

Daniel Schrag - Steering Committee Member of the Harvard Project on Climate Agreements. He can discuss climate change, energy technology, and energy policy. He is interested in how climate events in the geologic past can be used to understand our current climate challenges.
